Counseling is the Greatest Gift You Can Give Yourself
within the therapeutic relationship, you are able to embrace your full capacity of emotions, leading you to develop a higher and deeper sense of self.
People are constantly moving towards growth. As a client, you indicate the emotions and processes that are worked on within our sessions. I encourage and support this work through unconditional positive regard, empathy, genuineness, authenticity, vulnerability and the development of a sacred space.
Through creativity, mindfulness, and trauma-informed process-based healing you will embody yourself as a fully functioning, wholehearted individual who honors and embraces your own power, vulnerability, and sense of self in your daily life.

My specialized training in trauma, mindfulness, and play therapy allows me to walk alongside my clients during traumatic events such as grief, divorce, abuse, family life events, exposure to substance use, and domestic violence.
I am a skilled guide, moving with my clients as they uncover their truths and reconnect to their inner knowing. I support you in owning all parts of your story, and in doing so, gaining more self-acceptance and self-compassion.

My Approach to Counseling

I believe that all people, just by being on earth, are inherently worthy. I believe you are the expert in your own life. Each person is capable of extreme healing and resilience. My job is to honor your own wisdom while bringing awareness to the parts that are currently hidden or need more nurturing. Within our work, you are in charge of your healing and I am your advocate, support, and guide. I believe you are worthy of love and belonging. I hold this belief until you are able to feel it fully on your own as well.

Research has shown the majority of healing that occurs is because of the therapeutic relationship. Using a process-oriented approach, I utilize mindfulness, body awareness, creativity, and play therapy. All these techniques have strong evidence of success with depression, anxiety, hyperactivity, grief, and trauma. Mindfulness and body awareness have been well researched by Peter Levine, PhD, Bessel Van der Kolk, PhD, and others, as fundamental healing tools for releasing stored trauma in the body.

Trauma can look different for many people. My definition of trauma is a deep or distressing experience in one’s life. This can look like an assault, a divorce, a breakup, or a significant life change. Some trauma can be generational, comprehensive, and complex. It can show up in your emotions, within your body, and in subtle ways as you interact with the world. After trauma, your story changes, but growth and healing is possible through release, connection, and nurturance.
